NOTES: A large site which has been surveyed and also partially excavated. The site's northern sector contained mostly dwellings, while its northern sector was a burial site and contained mostly stone-built cist graves. Architecture at the site included foundations of structures, paved and unpaved surfaces, pits, stone slabs with possible postholes. Additional features include cist graves and hearths. Three radiocarbon dates in the southern sector range from 7580 to 7270 cal BP, in the Wadi Rabah period. Most pottery reamains are indicative of the Wadi Rabah culture, although the pottery from the northern sector is attributed to the somewhat earlier Lodian culture. Figurines made of aelionite sandstone, bone and greenstone were found out of context. Plant remains were found which may be associated with the burials on site. Faunal remains indicate an animal economy based on four domestic herd animals, with some (few) wild species.
