The DAAHL Database Search Page

How to Use This Page:

There are several ways to search for information in the DAAHL database.  With the exception of Project and Bibliography searches and Site Browsing, the results always resolve to a list of sites that have the attributes you select.  Project and Bibliography searches look for information in the Projects and Bibliography tables (there is an option to create a Site list from the Bibliography search). Site Browsing jumps directly to the Site Record View, and lets you browse through the site records one at a time.  Click one of the links below to jump to the search method you want.

Requirements for Using the Search Functions:

  • You must have a version of Google Earth equivalent to 4.0.2091 (beta) or later in order to see all the sites in DAAHL. The DAAHL Google Earth .kml is created with this version of Google Earth as the baseline.
  • To find out if you have this version, start Google Earth, then press Help > About Google Earth; the version number is listed in the box that opens.
  • If you don't have version 4.0.2091 (beta) or a later one, press the Google Earth button below, then download and install it.

Search for Bibliography Records

This search creates a list of Bibliography records that have whatever you type in the Keyword field somewhere in the record.  For example, if you type "Albright" in the field below, you'll get back a list of all the records in the Bibliography table that have "Albright" somewhere in the record.

Search for Site Records

This search creates a list of Sites that have Citations to any record in the Bibliography table with the Keyword in the Bibliography.  For example, if you type "Albright" in the field below, you'll get back a list of all the sites that are referenced in works with "Albright" in the Bibliography record.  The search starts in the Bibliography table, spans the Citations table, and ends up with Site records. In the resulting site list, you can select sites for display, and choose the symbol style you want, then plot the sites on Google Earth.
